CISCO 5505 ASA CLI DOES NOT WORK HOW TO
How about Cisco ASA Today, I had to learn how to do it using CLI and not ASDM since I couldn’t find where the equivalent of aaa authentication ssh console LOCAL and crypto key gen rsa mod 4096 in the ASDM. Im running 7.2(2).19 and i cannot find any command like that in my appaiance. Update: Securing Cisco ASA SSH server Enabling SSH has been covered here but it only talked about routers and switches. I've also read that this issue has beed fixed since a few weeks, now they have released version 7.2(2).22 where you can define ?dhcp-client client-id interface outside? in global configuration mode. It said some ISP?s require the client-id field of the DHCPDISCOVER request to be filled. I did however find a page on the Cisco site confirming my suspicions. I tried looking for a similar command on the ASA5505 but I couldn?t find anything. You can schedule this little java program to run. (For information about any wizard field, click Help. Cisco Flexvpn Dvti Setup not working any more if Spoke site is behind NAT. IPSec failure with IKE message failed its sanity check or is malformed. Cisco ASA: Unable to establish IPSec tunnel with IKEv2: Auth exchange failed. Step 3 While running the wizard, you can accept the default settings or change them as required. Cisco IPSec Pass-through on ASA 5505 not working. Step 2 Follow the instructions in the Startup Wizard to configure your ASA. It probably wouldnt take long to write a small java program to ssh in and then issue a reload command. Step 1 If the wizard is not already running, in the main ASDM window, choose Wizards > Startup Wizard. If not, there are java libraries for ssh and there are open source ssh clients. I read somewhere that if I was to use ?ip address dhcp client-id fastethernet 0″, then I got an address from the ISP. If there is an API for this device, maybe you can send some reboot request that way. Instead I connected the device to my internal network where the ASA got an address instantly.

I turned on the debugging for the DHCP client and could see that the ASA device was sending out broadcasts but a reply never came.

I've connected my ASA appliance to an ADSL modem, and i dont get an DHCP address on the outside interface (e0/0).
